Dear Family, Friends and Pastors,

We greet you, again, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, who receives all the glory.

After sending out a letter to you last Friday, regarding the trip to Japan, we had a conversation with our sending church pastor.  Our pastor asked questions regarding the ministry here in Brazil which caused us to realize we need to handle an area here in our ministry in Brazil before making a trip.  The trip to Japan was a worthy but also a costly trip that would take Michael away from home at a time when things need to be handled here.  

To God be the glory!  We are thankful for His wisdom and counsel in helping us to see needs so that the ministry here can be blessed by God.  We get excited to have experiences to share Him with the world but need to keep our focus where it should be.  God wants us to have teachable hearts and we want to listen to the wisdom of the leadership.   

With this in mind, we are writing this letter to inform you that Michael has cancelled his trip with Silent Word Ministries to the Deaflympics in Japan this November 2025. Please disregard the letter that we sent to you. If you have already mailed the check along with the slip to Silent Word Ministries, they will return the funds to you. The Silent Word Ministries office is aware of our cancellation.

We are thankful for you and your church for taking this matter into consideration.   We apologize for any inconvenience we may have caused and earnestly ask that you continue to pray for the team and leader for the team that will go to the Deaflympics in Japan.   Also pray that the Lord will send more people to volunteer to join the team and go so that souls will be saved. Lastly, pray for Jon Barr and Andrew Li as they complete an evangelistic Gospel cartoon with sign language, for distribution at the event. 

God is not finished with His work, whether it is here in Brazil or in Japan.  We trust Him for guidance as we continue to serve Him through the ministries He has given.  

Please pray for our girls as they are already halfway through the school year.  This is always a blessing as they attend Christian school but it is a challenge.  God is good!
